Barrow makes chilly remarks against Gambian diaspora

President Adama Barrow has made a chilly remark by calling The Gambian diaspora hypocrites who travelled with diplomatic passports he gave them.
He made the remarks at a political rally in Brikama at the dawn of the weekend as part of the campaign ahead of the December 4 presidential election.
For President Barrow, there is time for politics and time for work, calling those in diaspora as ‘Baakotong Fenyoo’ (goat’s tail).
“A lot of them are hypocrites and many are travelling with diplomatic passports that I gave them. I knew that they are Gambians and are responsible people who are party leaders too. But in their traveling they engage in character assassination against me and The Gambia,” he said.
The Gambian president said he is a peaceful man, calling on anybody who believes to be a man of peace to join him in building the nation.
He further said that some Gambians in the diaspora don’t have what to eat, adding that they don’t even have a chicken pen in The Gambia.
He said people engaging in gibberish talk in the diaspora are want disharmony in the country.
Barrow also described the Gambian diaspora as idle people who do not have a job.
Refuting his critics that he wants to bring dictatorship to The Gambia, the president said he desire is to make Gambia like other countries in the world.
