Choose your leaders wisely for peace and stability

Fellow Gambians, we know that we are in trying time and we have all witnessed the utterances of former President Yahya Jammeh directed to a tribe in The Gambia where all are related as a people.

It is time we utilise our minds properly and make knowledge our property rather than empty sentiments that would not lead us anywhere.

We will only be having a leader that only suits us because we can never have leaders that are different from us and the circumstances we create for ourselves.

It is important for the citizenry to evaluate themselves so that they can live in peace and harmony.

God cursed hypocrites and liars who always do their evil works to plunge society into chaos by destabilising human society.

Fellow Gambians December 4, 2021 is just around the corner and let us all strive to elect a leader who is ready to sacrifice to serve us for our collective welfare.

This should be a person we believe will sacrifice to provide good education our children who deserve better education like the children in the developed world.

That is the same opportunity that people like us in the Diaspora intend for all children back in our motherland, The Gambia.

In the same vain, I want a good future for Gambian children so that they would also have career opportunities whereby they can work at age of 18 or 21.

I want to see a Gambia with advance hospital like here, in the US where our people would benefit from the most advance medical treatment when they are sick. That’s what we call quality life.

The make sure that our children do not live in chaotic life is not only the work of the government but a collective responsibility.

We are the one who elect governments therefore it is our duty to make informed choice, especially when we are living in undesirable conditions.

The ball is our court to choose what we want by choosing the leader we trust.

Through an informed choice and genuine change we will be able to have a country worth living and our children will have hope and better life. Life without hope is meaningless.

Gambians are one people

I am Wolof by ethnicity but I can speak Mandinka, while my grannie is a Fula. I have other relatives that are Jolas and Serers. I went to same school with Manjakos among other tribes.

We should try to develop a sense of nationhood, unite and collaborative endeavour to ensure peace prevail in The Gambia.

The best among us is the one who fears God with a heart free from hypocrisy. One who is not a traitor and loves bringing people together instead of dividing them. That is the type person God admires.

People who are not trouble makers and are busy resolving conflicts of all kinds, care about the health of the sick and the suffering, sympathise and empathise with others are those with tender hearts that should be given a chance.

However, it is prudent to be aware and choose properly in an effort to get the best leader and not a leader selected based on sentiments like ethnicity, religion, regionalism etc.

The best leader is the one with qualities to alleviate the suffering of the people as women in labour suffer a lot during child birth. They lose their lives at labour in an alarming rate in The Gambia.

Let’s carefully elect the leader to lead you as president.
