President Barrow appoints new Communications minister

The Gambia has a new Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Mr Ousman A. Bah who was appointed on Friday, June 24, 2022.

Mr Bah’s appointment was announced on the State House official Facebook page which reads as follows:

“The General Public is hereby informed that His Excellency President Adama Barrow in exercise of the powers conferred on him under sections 71(1) and 71 (3) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, has appointed Mr. Ousman A. Bah as Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, effective today, 24th June 2022,” said the State House page.

It could be recall that during the last cabinet reshuffle, President Barrow decided to separate Communications from the Ministry of Information as a new ministerial portfolio of its own.

Before his appointment to the position, the new Minister was reported to have worked for Indian Institute of Hardware Technology (IIHT) Gambia Limited.
