The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is bracing up to introduce a new data analysis system in four Gambian border posts to enhance effectiveness and efficient work of border officials.

The IOM Chief Mission in Gambia, Fumiko Nagano, said the border information management system called Migration Information Data Analysis System (MIDAS) will also be installed at the main office of The Gambia Immigration Department (GID).

Nagano made these remarks at the handing over ceremony of 24 solar panels and 12 heavy duty batteries to strengthen the power energy system at Kerr Ali border post in Farafenni on Friday, November 29, 2019.

“That system is supposed to be installed here at Kerr Ali border check point as well, along with three border check points and the GID headquarters, so that they can share information about entry and records of travellers crossing the check points,” Madam Nagano told journalists at the sideline of the event.
