Optimistic President Barrow votes,urges fairness, assures relinquishing power if defeated

The incumbent President Adama Barrow, presidential candidate for National People’s Party (NPP) on Saturday called for fair play in the ongoing presidential election assuring that he will relinquish power if defeated.
Barrow was speaking to journalists after casting his vote at McCarthy Square polling station at 11am.
He urged the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to conduct free and fair election in the ongoing presidential election.
He stressed that their should be free, fair and transparent election throughout the process.
President Barrow said his unprecedented support during the campaign period will give him the “biggest landslide victory” in the election.
He said: “I know in the next 24 hours; my people will be celebrating in the streets.”
He confidently said that the NPP will never lose this election.
The Gambian leader implied that he is ready to accept the result if the election is free and fair, adding that IEC should neutral between parties.
“If they (IEC) are neutral, it makes it easy for people to accept the final result,” he said.
