Police charge man with assault, causing bodily harm

The Gambian Police Force (GPF) has on Sunday, April 5, 2020 charged Aziz Ndow a resident of London Corner in Serekund Central with assault for causing bodily harms to one Cherno Sulayman Jallow a native of the same town.

The tragic incident occurred in London Corner on Sunday, April 5, 2020 and was reported at the London corner Police station.

Confirming the story to The Monitor the police PRO, ASP Lamin Njie said: “Police received information about certain individuals fighting on the streets of London corner in which a team of police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.”

He revealed that upon arrival at the scene the police realized that Cherno Sulayman Jallow was assaulted with a cutlass by Aziz Ndow causing him injury.

“The victim was evacuated to Serrekunda General Hospital where he was admitted, treated and later discharged. Accused, Aziz Ndow is charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm contrary to the laws of the Gambia and currently awaiting trial,” said ASP, Lamin Njie.
